I am a Spark Reviewer for Walmart and was sent a free Little Seeds Monarch Twin Size Poppy Bed in Gray to review. I am going to leave a very detailed review here, but WOW!!! Is the word that I found myself saying over and over again from the minute the 2 boxes came to the time I finished assembling the bed and stood looking at it. To start with the bed comes in 2 boxes. One large box for the headboard and another box that has the side rails, footboard, slats, and hardware. Each box is lovingly packed with all the pieces individually wrapped and protected. The beautiful gray faux velvet headboard is solid with the material on both the front and back of the headboard. The front of the headboard has a light plush padding. The gray color is more of a silver gray and I hope you can see that from one of my pictures. It is brighter then you think it would be and I did hold up many different colors of fabrics next to the gray and all colors look wonderful with this which will make it easy to decorate whether your little girl wants to have a mermaid look, a princess look, or any other type of theme. The scalloped design makes it very versatile even for a pre-teen look. For cleaning of the fabric wipe with a damp cloth or use a vacuum attachment to just vacuum it off. The side rails and the footboard are also covered in the faux velvet with a light padding under the fabric. The side rails include a strong metal reinforcement rail to attach to each side rail with included screws and even an allen -wrench to assemble the bed. There are no extra tools needed. There is an included extra center rail with support legs to attach to the foot and headboard making this a very sturdy bed. Also included are curved wood slats to run horizontally across the bed frame. What makes this extra strong is the slats each run to the center of the bed and connect with plastic holders that snap into the center rail as well as end caps that snap into the side rails. (You can see from my second picture how the slats connect in the center. I took this picture before I finished attaching all the slats which go the entire length and width of the bed.) On the headboard and foot board there is of course 4 legs that screw in with large washers to keep the legs tight. The legs are white with a gold color at the bottom making the bed look elegant. There is a lot of care in the design of this bed. The included instructions are very easy to follow with large pictures showing each step. I would say it took us (my husband and myself) about 1 ½ hours to assemble the bed from start to finish (about 15 minutes was spent unwrapping the pieces). This is a 2-person job to hold the frame pieces in place. This bed is a “Big Girl” bed for children 4 years old and up because with a mattress it sits higher off the floor. It is for a standard twin size mattress. With the center support rail and curved slats, no box spring is needed. The bed frame can hold up to 250 pounds, so with a nice mattress I would say that the bed would last until your little girl is about 11-12 years old depending upon her weight and that of the mattress. The bed as I said does sit up higher and there is room underneath to put a couple of sweater/clothing storage bags. My granddaughter is going to love this bed when she gets of age. I really like this bed and Little Seeds takes a lot of care in making great quality products. My granddaughter is currently sleeping in a Little Seeds convertible crib, so when she is ready her beautiful Poppy Bed will be waiting for her.
