This is an excellent pillow for toddlers. Please do not use pillows for a baby or infant, it is extremely dangerous. Always remember ABC to help avoid SIDS: Alone on their Back in a Crib. Alone (no toys or blankets or pillows), Back (infants must sleep on their backs), Crib (in a crib with walls, safe firm mattress). But this pillow is great for a toddler. It does NOT have a pillow case. Its design is part of the actual pillow, but you can machine wash the entire pillow. I would describe the pillow as more firm/flat than thick/puffy. Which is what I wanted because I did not want my daughter's neck bent too much when she sleeps on it. So it is good for sleeping. And the dinos are bright and cute.
