Best boxes to use for OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD (Samaritan's Purse Christmas boxes for children around the world). 1. They are strong and hold more than even the plastic boxes at Samaritan's Purse, and definitely more than their cardboard ones. 2. THEY HAVE A LID! Not just a press-down, but with latches! 3. Best price around. 4. Make sure to order those large rubber bands (7'' x 5/8'', Bands, Size %23107 can get at Amazon or Walmart). They're latched closed but Samaritan Purse asks us to rubber band each box for shipping, as they travel rough terrain and bumpy roads. 5. Clear enough to see a little bit into the box for those last minute checks, if you put Xmas card at very bottom--easy to double check it's in there! And to tell the boy boxes from the girls. (boys got the colored backpacks, girls got clothes and pastels and pinks). (see photo) 7 boys, 6 girls) 6. I fit in each boy box: sandals, backpack, a yo-yo, flashlight, an earbud case filled with 4 sets of AAA batteries, washcloth, soap, tooth brush, pencil case with sharpened pencils, pens, erasers, ruler, sharpener, glue stick, scissors, rubber bracelet "Jesus Loves You," a bandana, and Xmas card at the very bottom. 7. Each child keeps the box which can be a useful tool around the home. Each box was pretty full but it all fit and that's thanks to these 7 quart boxes. I filled 13 of them and kept 1 for sample box for next year. If you only plan on doing 1 or 2, you can keep them rest for the following years. These are the best boxes ever! For any project where you need to pack or store items and be able to see a little of what's inside, and it latches.
