Cal Lighting 100W Metal Night Stand Lamp

The lamp is very sturdy and functional. It looks good, but not what I expected based on the photos provided. 1. The metal stem and base look very bright, light, and shiny (almost powder coated white) in the photo. In actuality, they are a medium gray color, like you would expect from brushed nickel. 2. Given how the lamp is positioned in the photo provided, it appears as if the USB ports and outlets are on the back of the lamp. But in reality, they are on the front of the lamp, which mars its appearance. I wish they had been on the back of the lamp hidden away, or at least on the side. This positioning detracts from the look of the lamp and reminds me of a typical chain hotel room lamp. 3. Again, when creating the ad for this lamp, they messed up the technical data. The description of the lamp says that it uses a 100 watt bulb. But clearly marked on the base where the bulb is screwed in it says not to exceed 40 watts. Calls to Lamps Plus and the mfr Cal Lighting did not give me confidence that using a 100 watt light bulb would be safe. Since 40 watts in this lamp does not throw off enough light for use as a bedside table lamp, I substituted a 5 watt LED. Much better and safe.
