LENOX SNAP-BACK Quick-Change Hole Saw Arbor, 2L 12.7 mm 32 – 210 mm, LXAH9912PBM, LXAH9912PBM

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is a vast improvement over the standard arbor. The quick connect action on the collar allows me to move the arbor to different hole saw bits in a matter of seconds without any tools. The nubs on the end of the quick connect grab a hold of the hole saw bit to ensure it is snug, but it also prevents the arbor from over-tightening during use, which makes it effortless to move the arbor from one hole saw to another. The pilot bit is also held in place with the quick connect action, making it easy to change the pilot bit without any tools, while also preventing the bit from falling out. With a standard arbor you have to check to lock screw from time t time to make sure it has not worked its way loose because that will cause you to lose your pilot bit, and if you do not have a pilot bit your hole saw becomes much more difficult to use accurately. You will notice in my pictures that there are two different arbors, one with a 3/8" drive and the other with a 1/2" drive that connect it to your drill. The 1/2' drive has two pins that fit securely into the hole saw, while the 38" has two rims that grip the base of the smaller hole saw bits. I have used the arbors on both Lenox and Craftsman hole saws and they fit perfectly. The arbors themselves are bulkier and heavier than a standard arbor, and they are very well made. A product like this will become the standard in the near future because there in no sense in using tools to remove an arbor when a product like this will allow you to do it in a few seconds.

The arbors have a snap in and back connect action that allows you to set and switch out hole saws easily without any needed tools. The drive pins on the end of the quick connect hold the hole saw bit to ensure it fits tightly and also prevents the arbor from over-tightening during use allowing you to remove the hole saw easily. The pilot bit is also held in place with the quick connect action making it easy to change the pilot bit without any tools, while also preventing the bit from falling out. I have used the arbors with both Lenox and Milwaukee hole saws, and they fit perfectly. The arbors themselves are a bit thicker than the Milwaukee brand and they are very well made. The quick connect still has the option of a set screw, but after struggling to loosen some set screws on different brands and feeling how secure the quick connect is in the forward position, you will not need to use it. I would definitely recommend this arbor and can see it being the new standard.
