Have not used it yet

Our builder installed this basin in our new home. This was not the basin we selected but I willing to give it a try. But first I want to confirm if this flipping cover problem has really been solved... and how. What I did notice is that there are no suction cups as others described. What I see is four 3M tape squares. So are you telling me the "fix" is to permanently bond the cover to the base? How are we supposed to clean under the cover? It's a hair trap! Thanks.

Drain cover is terrible

I have two of these shower pans in my kids' bathrooms. Within two years of installation, both of the drain covers failed and started flipping over whenever they were stepped on. The suction cups that are supposed to hold them in place break down and when they do, there's nothing you can do to keep the drain cover in place. The only solution I've come up with is to remove the drain cover entirely which my kids say creates an awkward indentation in the middle of the shower but which makes it safer to use and prevents the constant flipping of the cover.

Enhancements are not working

We had this installed by our contractor as part of our bathroom remodel. We didn't really know what we were getting until it was installed and were surprised by the design. Once we started using it we had all the problems mentioned here. Wish I'd known enough to check this out and read the reviews. At any rate, the solution that's working for us is to put a suction mat over the drain. The one we're using is the Gorilla Grip bath mat. The drain cover still rocks a bit under the mat if we step on it the wrong way, but it's a lot steadier and safer than it was.
