After seeing something similar in our friends home in Germany, we decided to give these a go. The idea of hiding the tank and not having a pedestal to trap all the gross “liquids” that occur in a bathroom from time to time was exciting. Cleaning completely under the toilet and minimizing its space in our bathroom, yes please!
But after reading these reviews I was concerned we may have made a mistake. We waited anxiously for our 10-month while house remodel, fearing the worst. But four toilets later, what a relief. These toilets are clean, inconspicuous and function perfectly. I'm not sure what other reviewers are doing in their toilets, but regardless of what we “drop in,” they flush clean. The hook and loop closures on the side panels are commercial grade, so either they've been improved or people overreacted (do people ever overreact in online forums?!?). Either way, panels stay put and toilets are great. Anytime we have people over, they are amazed by their look and ask us where to get them. How often does that happen at your house?
A few pointers:
1. Most builders have never done these… read the instructions, don't just start slapping them in.
2. Consider tile behind your toilet (wall) as stated in the instructions.
3. We have the “stainless” buttons but they do show fingerprints… white may be better?
4. Make sure they're at the right height… not much you can do once they're in the wall.
5. Finally… install the receptacle as outlined so you can add the most important feature… a bidet seat. From what I've read in these reviews, a lot of you need it!
