LG 4K UHD LED Smart Home Theater CineBeam Projector, HU70LA

I must confess to being an LG fan. At this moment I have 2 LG 4k TVs (A 50" and a 43") the LG SK4 soundbar and subwoofer, an LG UBK80 4k Bluray player and 2 projectors (LG pf50 1080p and the LG hu70) . The very portable pf50 I use for watching TV, Youtube etc on a 100" wall and the subject of todays review the Hu70 is my home cinema movie projector throwing 120" on my light grey wall. In the past I have also owned an Hf65 (Ust), a Hf60 and a Hf80 laser projector. I have also owned projectors from Optoma, Benq, Viewsonic and others over the last 10 years. Not one of these comes close to the visuals, colours and general cinema feeling of the HU70. At this moment I have a collection over 300 Blurays and would not want to start replacing these with 4k UHD titles. Thankfully there is no need as the upscaling job done between the LG 4k player and the projector is so good as to be hardly any difference to 4k performance. Just fire up the Bluray of Avatar The Way Of Water and its just amazing. I also dont feel I need to mess around with picture settings as I am always happy with 'standard' out of the box picture setting and make things worse when I try to tinker about with it. Not everyone is a fan of the electronic focus but I feel you can stand right up to your screen and adjust it with the always splendid Magic remote which is also backlit on this model. Sound is always a problem on a projector but no movie watcher worth anything would put up with sound from the projector. I connect mine via Optical cable to my LG SK4 soundbar and subwoofer and suddenly you've got cinema sound to match your 120" cinema visuals. Cant comment much on the WebOS as I dont use it on this projector, I use my portable PF50 with a Firestick plugged in the HDMI for great 1080p TV viewing taking it room to room. Never done outdoors but sure it would be great weather permitting. Could say a lot more about this projector but safe to say its the best cinema like performance I have so far had from a projector. Until perhaps LG sends me the LG HU715 Ultra Short Throw 4k laser projector for me to try. Please.

This 4k projector has exceeded all my expectations! The picture and sound quality is great! Its easy to setup, use and its great for big dark room! It has built in apps and design is very smart. I would highly recommend this to anyone!
