Kitchenaid 1.5L red Kettle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We're pretty happy with this kettle. The only chamber I would like is for the top to seal better to the Body to prevent unwanted stream escaping which may have an affect on our cupboards near by. All in all, a great stylish kettle.

Seller Verified Purchase

Not Advertised Properly ???

Hi, This is a TOTALLY UNIQUE ONE OF A KIND product available in the Australian market place and you there at "KITCHEN AID" have totally failed to advertise the product correctly!!?? This is a stainless steel internal mechanism that has no plastic in it - therefor it is safe to boil water in. If you do a search for stainless steel kettle this product does not come up and can not be found?? Yet this is the outstanding characteristic and #1 sales feature that the product offers. Please sharpen you game a bit "KITCHEN AID" as there are many consumers out there who want to purchase stainless steel kettles that have zero plastic in them.

Great! 100% stainless steel (no plastic) interior

Fantastic! Highly recommend. Finally a kettle that is completely stainless steel on the inside. No plastic at all coming into contact with the water (not even a hidden plastic necessary for an external water level gauge). For those that want the an electric kettle the way all kettles used to be for health reasons/those who are ill and/or are sensitive to any chemicals leaching from the plastic over time with boiling over and over. I've had mine nearly a year and it still looks almost pristine, like it did when I first bought it. I don't know why I've seen the odd claim by others to have had discolouration inside because it hasn't happened to me. My guess is that it's because of something in the water in their location. I would have preferred no plastic on the outside, just stainless steel (or coloured stainless steel) on principle to reduce plastic use generally as it's good for the environment but my primary concern was for the interior, for only stainless steel that comes into contact with the water. It's pretty fast to boil, the time it takes is as expected for the amount of water you have put in it. If you just need a cup or two (minimum amount is 250ml) it boils super fast. It doesn't sound particularly loud in my small kitchen as it boils. Because it's all stainless steel on the inside the water tastes great/is unaltered as there's nothing that can leach into it. There's clear markings on the inside indicating the water level. Some may complain about no external gauge, but that requires some plastic to come into contact with the water and you need to open the lid to fill it with water anyway so I don't find an external gauge important or necessary. Especially if you then have the down side of plastic in contact with the water. If the kettle feels pretty light it's not much effort to open the lid to check if the water level is above minimum and/or at the volume you require with the clear to see inside markings. Overall I'm very happy with this kettle, it's been wonderful to have a fast boiling electric kettle with no plastic in the water available again. After a long time without any kettle like this, the way they always used to be made. I had tried a stove top stainless steel only (inside and out) kettle but it takes forever to boil so I'd just boil up water in a stainless steel pot instead as it was faster, but still painfully slower than an electric kettle. Therefore it was such a relief for me to find this kettle about a year ago. I had been looking for years but had given up for a while until I stumbled across this one. I'm just so pleased with it, it's the only one on the market here in Australia that is only stainless steel on the inside and, unlike others that say they have stainless steel interiors, not even small or hidden amounts of plastic (like that necessary for an external water level gauge). For others wanting no plastic on the inside like me, I recommend you buy one before they bring out new models and discontinue this one, as all brands seem to do after a while. I'm concerned successor kettles may not be the same 100% stainless steel on the inside so am thinking of buying at least one spare for when this one eventually dies in case, once again, there is no 100% stainless steel interior kettles available again. Hopefully KitchenAid will just replace with a similar model that also has same 100% stainless steel interior.
