Olympic Maximum 1 Gallon Redwood Transparent Exterior Stain and Sealer in One Low VOC

I have been refinishing decks for 18 years. Up until about 7 years ago, I went back and forth between Olympic Maximum and another brand. Many customers wanted me to come back and do their deck again after a few years. I started to notice the decks I stained up to 4-5 years earlier with Olympic had held up well. Decks stained with the other brand (Yellow can & rhymes with rabbit) the finish had NOT lasted well at all. I even had a couple complaints the other stain had not lasted even two years. Since seeing these results after several years, Olympic Maximum is MY GO-TO PRODUCT! Every time! Of course, preparation is the key! Thorough but gentle pressure washing by a pro,(even NEW decking MUST be pressure washed to remove the "mill seal" or no finish will penetrate or adhere well!) a couple good days to dry out, usually some light sanding, blow off the sawdust, then you can apply the product. Keep it stirred up every few minutes. Spray, roller or brush, put on plenty and keep a "wet edge". Then YOU MUST BRUSH OUT EVERY BOARD so there are NO PUDDLES of liquid left on the wood surface! I like a 4" brush with natural bristles that screws on to a broom-length extension. Secure your brush with a hose clamp if you can't find a good one that screws on. Then you can brush/broom each board while standing. Go with the grain for liberal but even coverage. Remember, NO PUDDLES! Give it a couple days to dry and ENJOY your gorgeous deck!

I have been building,cleaning and sealing decks for over 34 years in michigan where the weather can go from one extreme to the next and through the years i have used many brands of deck sealers. Once I tried Olympic Maximum about 8 years ago I have never used anything else. Very easy to use and lasts for years.
