If you are wanting to cook like a Cajun, this mix has all you need! Kary's Stew Mix makes cooking Cajun easy and simple. Simply boil water, add the mix and meat or seafood, and have an authentic Cajun fricassee ready in minutes. Fricassee is a Cajun stew that is traditionally cooked with roux and your favorite meat or seafood and served over rice. Kary's Stew Mix is made with Kary's No Fat No Sodium Dry Roux that gives the mix it's rich flavor and dark color. This mix is shelf stable, and will surely become a pantry staple in your home.

Instructions
Cooking Instructions: Meatball Stew Do not cover pot when cooking. In a medium pot, bring 6 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat and whisk contents of bag into water. Return to heat and add 1-1/2 to 2lbs. of uncooked meatballs. Bring to a second boil, then simmer for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, add 2 medium potatoes cubed and cook for 20 more minutes stirring occasionally. Serve over rice. Chicken or Pork Stew Do not cover pot when cooking. In a medium pot, bring 6 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat and whisk contents of bag into water. Return to heat and add 1-1/2 to 2lbs. of bite sized pieces of pork steak, pork fingers, or boneless skinless chicken. Bring to a second boil, then simmer for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, add 2 medium potatoes cubed and cook for 20 more minutes stirring occasionally. Serve over rice. Shrimp and Egg Stew Do not cover pot when cooking. In a medium pot, bring 5 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat and whisk contents of bag into water. Return to heat and bring to a boil. Once at a boil, reduce heat and let simmer for 25 minutes stirring occasionally. After 25 minutes, add 2lbs. of raw peeled and deveined shrimp and 6 hard-boiled eggs. Bring back to a boil, reduce heat to simmer and let cook for 15 more minutes stirring occasionally. Serve over rice. Variations: For a thicker stew, increase cook time in order to reduce. For a thinner stew, add more water to the stew. For tougher cuts of meat, increase cooking time to tenderize. Add a 6 oz. can of crabmeat to the shrimp and egg stew recipe (when adding shrimp) for a shrimp and crab stew. For those who like spicy foods, add a dash of Louisiana hot sauce or cayenne pepper.
