The JBL PartyBox 120 is a monster. I charged it up and it ran continuously for 12 hours – longer than I can last on a night out on the town, and definitely longer than the battery in my phone. The noise is earthly and loud, It doesn't just take up a space – it spills out of it, comes over into the garden, and probably rattles your neighbour's kitchen cupboards. The bass thumps more solidly than your car exhaust, and the sound shoots from "chill background rhythms" to "mini-glastonbury in your garden" with a single flick of the dial. It's well built, at just over 2ft tall, but with the handles you can just carry it around easily. I took it to a fun run where I was marshaling, and the runners were more keen to overtake me than the finish line itself. You don't require pep talks when you've got bass drops. Pairing over Bluetooth is so quick it's almost suspicious, and the controls are simple enough that even your mate who still thinks Bluetooth is “witchcraft” can work it out. I've been using the JBL PartyBox Club 120 for a little while now, and it's honestly become one of my favorite gadgets. It is a little on the heavy side, but the handle makes it easy to move around when I need to. For me, it's more than just a speaker it creates an atmosphere, whether I'm relaxing alone, cooking, or spending time with friends.
