Good for residential use

My husband took his new Hammer Drill to work and let his co-workers borrow it. They stated that this tool would be a great tool for residential use around interior or exterior concrete surfaces. It has a peppy engine but wouldn't last long for commercial purposes.

Outstanding full featured Hammer Drill !

The Hyper Tough DL1137 6.0-Amp 1/2-Inch Corded Hammer Drill is a great tool to use. This is a very versatile drill with many features which I love. It has a variable-speed trigger switch, simply apply pressure on the trigger to adjust speed or you can control the speed with the speed-dial built into the trigger switch. It also has a lock-on button to ease stress on your finger for continuous drilling. It has a push switch for bi-directional going forward or reverse rotation. This drill also sports a depth gauge rod to control the depth of drilled holes. Now for one of my favorite features of this drill is the hammer drill switch which allows you to select as a normal drill for wood, metal or other non concrete materials or select the hammer drill mode for drilling holes in brick,, masonry or concrete. This drill is well made which also comes with an auxiliary handle to give support for 2 handed drilling when required. The chuck is tighten and loosen by hand and is simple to install or remove bits.

Great entry level Hammer Drill

For the “Walmart” brand of tools, this Hammer Drill is a great value for the price conscious consumer. If you are a weekend DYI'er this is a must have. Cordless would be better, but sometimes it is better to be corded since batteries sitting on a charger go bad overtime. If you only need to use this tool 3-4 times a year, you won't break the bank investing in it. I like the extra handle for support and precision in drilling. Also the depth gauge is handy.
