Great shorts-but size up 2-3 sizes to purchase

These are beautiful shorts and the quality of the shorts are great. What is the problem then? These are not 3xl-maybe size small or medium for a young man. Wow-I know these are not made in the USA. It just got me thinking of if this is size 3xl in another country we are super fat in the USA. Again quality nice-but the size is off. I compared them to size small and medium US sizing.
