Humminbird AS PC3 Advanced Accessory System Computer Connection Cable 700051-1

The picture is confusing in that there are actually two cables in the box. They connect together as one to allow you to connect your Humminbird to your pc via a USB cable. The second cable houses the battery case that powers the depth finder while connected to your pc. The AS PC2 version is the same but uses the older pin connectors while this new AS PC3 enables you to use a USB connection. Wanted to clarify incase someone thought they needed to buy an additional cable. It uses 8 AA batteries to power the depth finder while it is connected to your pc. I do find that it runs through batteries quickly but once you are used to using it, you do what you need to do quickly and be through. Much nicer to upload the data in the comfort of your home. Yes you can up or download the data on your SD card, carry it to your pc and then up or download through the Humminbird software. But then you have to carry your SD card back out to your boat, crank up the depthfinder and see if sees all your changes. This allows you to do it in the comfort of your home without having to carry the SD card back and forth to the boat. If you keep your boat in a marina but bring your depthfinder home, it pays for itself in one or two uses (gas prices). But best of all, you can learn to use your depthfinder in simulator mode without having to be on the boat. It is worth that in itself! Same price as buying it directly from Humminbird but the shipping via Walmart was much cheaper and quicker.

Bought this a few weeks ago and the updates were great addition to convert my boat helix 7 to a portable unit for ice fishing
