Very satisfied

Bought this back in 2018 for placement in granit foundation cellar of home built circa 1784. Works great! I find it very efficient. I set it to max 65% humidity.

Great dehumidifer - except you cannot find filters

The system works fine. However, for almost 6 months now Honeywell has told me each and every month that the filters are coming soon - the unit freezes up with a dirty filter and there is no point in using it without a filter. Honeywell needs to get their supply chain in order ASAP.

Don't waste your money; refridgerant leak issues

This unit was installed in the basement of our new build less than 2 years ago. As built, the de-humidifier is designed to decrease the amount of humidity in the space using a compressor and fan, where the compressor is charged with refrigerant to act as the heat exchange mechanism. About 3 months ago, as spring arrived, the system should have worked but the humidity level in the basement continued to increase. Our contractor finally was able to have HVAC techs come to inspect the unit, only to find that the was no refrigerant in the lines; there is a leak somewhere. The HVAC techs said that this was the 2nd Honeywell unit they have found in two weeks with the same failure, a unit that also had been installed about 2 years ago. Speaking with our contractor following that conversation, he informed me that a 3rd unit, also installed about 2 years ago, has failed. If one were to extrapolate the rate of failure in this random sample to the national scale, the numbers would be astounding. The unit was either poorly designed and poorly manufactured or, most likely, quality control in the plant is lacking. Do not even think about purchasing the 90-PT Whole House De-humidifier unless you have money to waste.
