Honey-Can-Do 3-Tier Bamboo 12-Pair Shoe Rack, Natural

It stands 20-1/8 inches high and is 29 ¾ inches wide. The space for the shoes is 27 inches wide and 12 ¾ inches deep. It will hold nine pairs of shoes or eighteen pairs of flat sandals, if you stack them on top of each other. I had been putting my shoes in plastic covered shoeboxes. If you want to prevent having to clean the rack or the bottom of your shoes every time, you could keep them in shoeboxes and still use the rack to make them stack well. Or, you can use the shoeboxes in the middle row (as shown in the picture) to deflect some of the dirt that might still be on the shoes from the top shelf. It looks nice either way. You could also use the rack and the plastic shoeboxes, to hold and organize toys or other household and office items. The rack will hold three shoeboxes per shelf with enough space to hold a pair of thin shoes, stacked on top of each other. We did not experience any splitting of the bamboo, before, during or after the assembly, nor did we need to use our drill. The holes for the screws have been pre-drilled with plenty of room for the screws. As a result of these improvements, the rack is sturdy. Perhaps the manufacturer has corrected the problems from the past. From what I can tell, there is no option to make the shelves level. Ours are at an angle and it's a great look. Everything came very nicely wrapped. It comes with a contained package of twelve screws and a hex or Allen wrench (L-shaped tool with a slight groove on both 8-sided ends). One person can put the rack together. The instructions are pictorial. We discovered that it was easier to do it this way though. 1. Carefully, cut away the tape with a pair of scissors, to free the polyethylene paper. 2. Put one shelf standing up on the floor, with the L-shape side facing up. 3. Lay the side frame on top of the shelf, large hole side up. 4. Place the screw through the side with the large hole and into the shelf; then screw in the second screw for the shelf. 5. Place the second shelf standing up parallel to the first shelf, (L-shape facing up), align the holes, and screw the shelf in place. 6. Repeat for the third shelf. 7. Carefully flip the whole assembly over and screw in the other frame to this side of the shelves. The manufacturers probably already considered other design options, and this current style is beautiful; but, not everyone is interested in immediately cleaning their footwear, nor will they want to use the plastic boxes each time or clean up a mess left by their shoes. On that note, one of the improvements I'd like to see, is a beautiful 3-tier solid shelf, that is without the open slats. They may have done this already, but it didn't come up when I searched for it. The height of the 3-tier rack, fits nicely under our wardrobe organizer, with no wasted space. My second suggestion, is that the company make the shelves farther apart, to accommodate sandals with high tops, half boots, mountain boots, and simply, more space for big hands. Sandals and boots with high tops, will only fit on the top shelf, but are not often used in our household. I would rather use that space for prettier shoes or shoes we wear most often. And my third suggestion is for the company to recommend efficient ways to clean the bamboo, and what should not be used, since there is a warning in the warranty about it, but no handy suggestions. What I liked about the shelf is that it is very pretty. I love it that our shoes are now easier to get to and our closet is more organized. It was nice that everything we needed to put the rack together, was right there in the packaging. And we love bamboo, which goes well with our flooring.

I love this shoe shelf. My family is loud, boisterous, and constantly on the go. The front door area of my house looks like a shoe bomb went off every. single. day. Shoes are usually kicked off and thrown everywhere. Mates are never found again or if they are it is only after enlisting every single family member in hunting down said shoe. We have tried other shoe systems, but they didn't work. The beauty of the Honey Can Do 3-Tier Deluxe Bamboo Shoe Shelf is that the shelves can be installed at either an angle or flat and are slatted so that air can circulate between the shoes...Smart. So that if you have kids with smelly feet like say mine...you can breathe in your own house again. Also, there are three shelves with rounded edges in a beautiful honey color and it holds a lot of shoes. We are a family of five and we manage to each get 1-2 pairs by the front door. Directions were not exactly the best, but my kids were able to figure them out. My two pre-teens built the shoe shelf in less than 10 minutes as a surprise for me while I was at work since the box arrived before I got home. We use this shoe shelf daily and it looks as good as the first day they built it. The shelf is compact and I love how it looks! I love that it holds all my kids shoes and that there are no more kids shoe prints and piles right next to my front door for me to trip over.
