these fit in more than just what they're designed for and you even have extra length I put it in the ripple 48 oz chocolate milk and it fit perfectly with extra length And I also put it in a 59 oz container of silk chocolate almond milk and there was extra I haven't actually tried putting it in full gallon probably wouldn't fit cuz there was a little bit of extra with the 59 ounce but not a lot so I would say depending on the container it would probably go up to 64 oz. you can clean these in the dishwasher hand wash with the straw cleaner but make sure it is completely dry before using. I wish they did come in different lengths and different colors however
