This item has thumb-actuated positive stops at 0 degrees, 15 degrees, 22.5 degrees, 31.6 degrees and 45 degrees, right and left, for quick and simple miter adjustments. The Hitachi Compound Miter Saw also has a laser guide system to make alignment with the ink line easier. The dust guide helps to reduce scattering. For large stock support, the saw has an adjustable pivot fence, and it has a soft grip that is designed for comfort and to reduce vibration. This saw is durably designed to offer solid performance, and it comes complete with a spindle lock, so you can efficiently change the blade. Great value, well made, very portable
This saw is replacing an older Craftsman. It is very well made and the laser alignment was spot on right out of the box. It is structurally well made yet weighs about half that of the old Craftsman, and has a carry handle, so I am prone to use it more often for smaller jobs. I considered buying an expensive blade for it, but the stock blade makes very clean cuts.

Great saw !
I'm a weekend project guy. I don't have alot of money to spend, BUT, I don't want to buy something cheap that's not gonna work or last either. I looked at 3 brands of 10" saws and this one had the best features for the money. I spent just a little more for the Hitachi, but I think it was worth it. There's no other saw I know of that comes with a 5 year warranty either. For the work I need it to do, I'm glad I got it !
