Wow! We put the heavier items at the bottom but for plastic shelving, it's sturdy, strong. So EASY to put together. Twist and push the legs into the holes. You first think they are in place but then you discover they push snug into their holes on each corner when you slowly turn them and put some pressure. We got this on sale. Super low price. Had we known these were so well made and sturdy we would have purchased two or three at the same time. Great purchase and product from Walmart. Shelves are not too narrow but wide enough to be very useful. Depending on what you put on it, it might just surprise you. Could use in a pantry but don't stack heavy can goods on top of each other on the upper shelves? Great for sheets, towels, craft supplies, various kitchen items (heavier stuff at bottom). Some garage items, some camping items. It's very, very decent for the price and surprisingly useful, stable. Stronger than we thought it would be
