My cat just loves the brush and no more hand bites when I brush her tail and rear end but spend very little time there anyway from experience. There's no directions but easy to figure out. Once you're done empty the water or it will drain itself. Hair comes off the brush easily unless there is very little or the hair is dry but not a big deal. She didn't like the hissing sound of the steamer around her head but with patience she's ok with it now. Good buy for the money.
