The 18-gauge 3/4" galvanized steel expanded mesh has a 10" height and our 24-gauge galvanized steel base is designed with flanges for secure mounting. This chimney cap seems fairly well built. My one issue is that i received mine with no powder coat. Which is extremely frustrating because now I need to find time to paint it. I did contact the seller earlier this week and still haven't received a response.
