balances out our 9 ft ceilings
These poles allow me to extend my existing shelf unit heights up another level. I live in a apartment with 9 foot ceilings. This extra set (I had previously bought 2 sets a while back) of extension poles makes the unit look more appropriate for the tall wall. I put two shelf units one on each side of a double window. I am able to use the units as a hanging point for blackout curtains. I did not want to put holes in the wall for a curtain rod. I am pleased with the result.
