Instructions
Stovetop - From Ambient **1. Bring 2-2 1/2 cups water to a boil. Add 1 teaspoon butter or margarine and salt (optional). **2. Stir in 1 cup rice. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 45-50 minutes. **3. Remove from heat. Let stand covered for 5 minutes or until water is absorbed. Fluff with fork. **4. Serve. **Makes 2 cups of cooked rice. **For best results: **For firmer rice, use less water and simmer for a shorter time. For softer rice, use more water and simmer for a longer time. Do not lift lid while cooking, steam cooks rice.

I whisk long grain brown rice in a plastic bowl with warm water, drain, repeat about 8 times. My rice was clean and seemed fresh. So, I made some in the Crock Pot and it was fluffy and just perfect. You could not ask for better. I know this is an American grown and milled product so I did not hesitate, and at under a dollar a pound. I am all set for the winter after prepping in mylar. Wonderful American product, price, and taste.
