It's fire roasted. What more can I say?

I can't believe someone would leave a bad review of this. It's FIRE ROASTED. It will having charring. It will be smoky. It's not just random black stuff in the can. The picture literally shows you what it looks like. “Fire” is not the heat level. It's how the tomatoes are cooked. If you don't want the charred and smoky flavor, don't get a fire roasted product. I buy this all the time. I use it for soups and sauces and it adds a welcomed flavor. I stock up on this regularly as well as regular diced tomatoes so I can use the one that goes with what I'm making. Leaving a bad review on something that you didn't pay attention to isn't fair to those looking for this type of diced tomatoes. I highly recommend this.

Excellent low priced choice

I mix this with cooked ground pork sausage and a can of Hunt's tomato paste with Italian seasoning for a pasta sauce. Please do not eat beef, it is an unsustainable abomination for our environment and beef fat clogs our arteries. The can is easy to recycle and this will reduce our importing of steel from foreign countries.

I like to keep a can or two of these tomatoes on hand to help with meals when I need to dress up tacos or chili. They always give it that something special. instant taco mixes are so dry and don't go very far. These tomatoes really stretch that packet and add to the tacos. I use them in soups, chili and even in meat dishes.
