The flavor is terrific. It has just the right balance of sweetness vs. sour. I shared the jar with my son. There was just the right amount for the two of us. I wish there were a larger size jar. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Pork and sauerkraut

I use a 3 or 4 lb pork butt roast. I brown all sides in a deep soup pot. I add a cup of water and the juice from 3 jars of silver floss. Then leave it on low all day checking to see if there is still a little liquid in the bottom of the pot. Once it is tender, I add red potatoes quartered and carrots and all the sauerkraut from the 3 jars. Keep cooking till you can't stand it any longer - 90 mins. Sometimes I go crazy and add a couple tablespoons of brown sugar, or some applesauce to sweeten it a little bit, but it doesn't need it. This sauerkraut is sweet and mild - just as advertised. The caraway seeds make it authentic. I go out of my way to a grocery store in the next town because my closest store doesn't carry it. Then I stock up. It's the ONLY one I will use.

Sauerkraut

The sauerkraut was fresh, best thing about the jar you can use as much as you want for your cooking, then put he lid back on and refrigerate. Best tasting sauerkraut for Ruben sandwiches , on rye bread. I bake my Ruben sandwiches.
