Shark® Rotator® Lift-Away® DuoClean® Pro with Self-Cleaning Brushroll Upright Vacuum, ZU780

While the kids played with their gifts, I spent Christmas day cleaning with my new gift. I had a shark that lasted 14 years and still does a great job, it is now my "new" garage vacuum. I was drawn to this for the pet hair "German Shepard" and self cleaning brush as it was a weekly chore to remove long hair. Everyone in the home has hair beyond their shoulders and I cannot stand human hair let alone pet hair, so we clean 2 or 3 times a week. I thought that our old shark still did an amazing job, but the new one has gotten a whole lot more. I also love the light as the old shark did not have one and we would lay a flashlight on the hardwood to find all of the pet hair, but no more. We actually find it works best when the blinds are closed and use the vacuum light to see. We tested it by going over the hardwood and carpet with the old one last time, followed by the this one and it refilled the cap. Couldnt believe what we were leaving behind with the still good but 14 year old Shark. The reason I chose this one too was because the weight of it was just right for the swivel head. Some vacuums swivel while trying to navigate a straight line and want to turn on its own. This one only turns when I want it to turn and just at the turn of my wrist. The self cleaning brush after one week is still clean as the day we opened it. We have used it every day...lol. So like 2 weeks worth from the old shark, which I would have had to bust out the scissors and cut out long hair by now. So I know we will continue to use it. I am hopeful that with the lack of worker pride in our world that shark has a great QC dept and treats their workers well. I can get another 14 years until I need another one for my robot to use. The only issue I had in 14 years with the old shark was a crack in the hose that I wrapped duct tape around 3 years ago and still worked great. I could have gotten an new hose back then for cheap, but duct tape is still cheaper and it still holding on, just out in the garage now.

Finally a vacuum that picks up dog fur and continues working! Trust me I have tried every vacuum on the market. From Dyson to Oreck to Roomba to Rainbow....... I have never found a vacuum that picks up so much dust and fur at the same time! I ordered 3 more for our business, rental house and office.
