But here's what the packaging fails to mention: unless you possess the brute strength of She-Ra, Empress of Eternia, good luck opening or closing this beast. I've pulled muscles I didn't know existed just trying to release one. I had to enlist a pair of pliers, a prayer, and the motivational soundtrack from Rocky just to get it to snap shut. It's not so much a hair accessory as it is a commitment. Once it's in, that barrette has claimed your hair. You're not removing it—you're negotiating with it. Five stars for performance. One star for the upper body workout. Overall? A solid four stars and a strained tricep.

The Barrettes weren't quite what I was looking for, but with some work I got them to work for me. But your delivery was horrid. The card of the barrettes were delivered in a plastic bag, somewhat like your thin Walmart shopping bags, which made them very light. They were obviously just thrown on the porch, but with the wind we had they blew off the porch. I only found them because I was picking up debris off the lawn where they had blown.
