My husband always swore by the use of Iodine for any minor cuts! In the 56yrs we were married we used iodine on all our cuts and abrasions!! I was very happy to find the clear iodine. My husband passed 3 yrs ago but I remain faithful to his advice on the use of iodine for my own. I recently got a cut on my thumb that stayed sore, red and seeping Serosanguineous drainage. But I had not used the iodine because I had run out of it. I ordered a new bottle and it took a while to get it delivered. As soon as I received it I started applying it to my very sore thumb!
