Gerber Gear Straightlace Folding Clip Knife Cyan

This slip joint knife by Gerber is a decent budget knife for general purpose. The blade is just under three inches with a blue aluminum handle. From the box, it's secured with two zip ties. The zip ties are fairly thick and will need heavy duty scissors to cut it off. Using a knife might nick or scratch the handle, so recommend using strong scissors to cut the ties off the package. There is no lock, but it is stiff enough to prevent an inadvertent slide out. There is a catch when the blade is half-way out for some safety. The nail nick runs along the blade for sliding the blade out. The blade is relatively sharp out of the box but could be sharper. The blue colored handle gives off a fashion statement differentiating from other knives. It's not too light, and it's not too heavy. I've been steadily using it more and more instead of my other knife, as it grows on me. Definitely part of my outdoor gear now. Overall, this is an everyday general purpose low budget knife that cuts thru most things. With the nice blue-ish handle, you'll be cutting in style, as it is eye catching. Highly recommended

Well, the fact the name Gerber is written on the side assures you this is a quality blade. The Gerber Straightlace Folding Knife is a well-made and sleek blade. This knife grabs your attention with its color scheme, blue handle with a red and white stripe. The hand scales are made of aluminum and have a powder coated feel to them. The rest of the knife is constructed of polished steel, buffed to a mirror-like finish. The blade edge is sharpened to perfection. The shape of the blade is referred to as a Sheepsfoot style and has a nail nick that runs almost the length of the blade, allowing extra purchase points to help with opening. The opening mechanism is called a slip joint, meaning the knife simply folds open and closed…there are no triggers or locks. The total length of the knife open is 6.9”…handle is 4” and the blade is 2.9”. The knife has a reversible pocket clip, this requires a small hex tool if you want to change sides. Needless to say, I'm impressed with this knife…however, I've never been unhappy with a Gerber product. I would definitely recommend the Gerber Straightlace knife to anyone seeking a quality-made, well-designed and easy-to-use blade.
