Soft enough to be comfortable but not flimsy. Cons: None Things to know: It is heavy but thats part of the point with this sized pack. You MUST use a barrier between pack and skin. I use the slip-cover from my electric heating pad, which is just enough to prevent skin discomfort. This size is for larger areas. It is flexible but its not going to mold completely around all joints. I'd suggest you use a strap (Ace bandage, nylon with buckle, etc ) to secure on an ankle or shoulder. But your body-size will dictate that. I am looking to see if this maker has a small size for small areas or even my lunchbox!
