Garnier Nutrisse Nourishing Color Creme, 31 Darkest Ash Brown

I was terrified my hair was going to turn blue AFTER I had already applied the color. That's when I finally read the reviews. My hair was already really dark, I usually used Darkest Brown which was pretty close to my natural color but I wanted something a bit darker and cooler. Darkest Ash Brown turned out to be perfect! I love the color! It's basically black but not as harsh for my fair complexion. I really don't know why so many people have the problem with their hair turning blue, maybe they re-formulated or maybe it was just because my hair was already pretty close to the color. I have no clue. I will, however, keep purchasing this color.

I see bad reviews all the time for this color because "my hair looks blue!" And people seemed shocked.. I just want to roll my eyes. Ash tones have a blue, sometimes green, tone to them. Really I would call this color a light blue black instead of ash brown but I don't name the colors. If you are going from a naturally light hair color, especially one with ash tones, you will get a more blue effect. And yes it will be dark. I would compare this color to the "natural black" shades of hair color, but with an ash (blue) undertone instead. That being said, I love this color. Don't shy away from it just because it gets poor reviews from people who are not educated on color tones. Personally, I love the blue undertones it gives without being full on blue black. I have naturally black hair (not blue/ash...) and this give me a gorgeous color every time. By far my fave. My one complaint os it fades quicker than I'd like and is getting harder to find in store. Not sure if it has been discontinued..
