I bought these gloves for my husband. We have rose bushes and he was trimming them back to get ready for winter, we cover them in freezing weather and he comes in bleeding most of the time after trimming the bushes, these gloves offer a measure of protection from thorns and tree or bush limbs, twigs. He was happy to have them this weekend when he started trimming the trees back for winter. I would recommend to anyone needing gloves to protect their hands, also, there were arm guards in the package as well, good purchase, we love it.

I don't think the arm shields are actually leather, but they work very well. i pulled up a yard full of dandelions and didn't have to deal with scratches or irritation. The gloves are also great.
