Garden of Life Organic Plant-Based Protein Powder, Chocolate, 20g Protein Shake Drink, Vegan, Probiotics, Digestive Enzymes, 20oz​

I mainly use this as a meal replacement, breakfast mainly, since I'm diabetic and need to control how much food I intake. I normally drink diabetic shakes (all types you can find on here) and although they do work, they tend to leave me feeling bloated, gassy, and with a nasty after taste. ALL of them, even the top "Dr.recommended" one. This shake does not. Does it have sugar? No. Low carbs? Yes, Does it fill you up for a few hours? Yes. Low calorie? definitely yes. Is it easy to prepare, pretty much. The problem I have with it is the taste. It is pretty weak, not really a rich chocolatey flavor, more like a chocolate flavored-ish water. It dissolves pretty easily in water, I tried using almond milk as it is suggested and it was not as good as it sounded. The texture changed dramatically. Was it "richer" than plain water yes, better flavor, no. Did it disolve as fast? NO. Would I recommend, yes if you dont mind the flavor. As i stated so far, no bloating or gas to report.

I like the garden of life products but the taste on this was just so awful I just couldn't get past it. I like the mushrooms and fruit/vegetable extracts. I have had pea protein before and don't recall it being bad so not sure if it was that or whatever the “natural flavor” is, (which is listed ahead of cocoa so it's not cocoa) along with too much artificial sweetener was bad enough that after trying it twice I gave up and threw it out. I ended up buying unflavored whey protein and adding my own cocoa with some monk fruit drops.
