The top fits a twin xl instead of a twin. Had I known I wouldn't bought a twin xl instead of a twin. My daughter seems happy about it though. She has space to put things at the end of her bed. So I guess it's a win win for her. It's very sturdy and so I'm comfortable with the frame itself. The whole bed doesn't shake when she is up there or when she's climbing up. The edges are rounded nicely so I don't need to worry about scratching the paint off my walls. v
