No inflation! The beads inside are malleable and it's very comfortable. Nice upgrade for our pool floats. We like that you can lay flatter than on the Kona Float. Although it's not as long, it's easy to just let lower legs kick in the water. We like that it's not as long as we don't have a huge pool. It is quite pool nap worthy!
