It's great - but in moderation

I am a Frontier Co-op enthusiast and was a huge fenugreek seed enthusiast until recently. Frontier's organic whole fenugreek seed is great quality - as I've found almost all of their products to be. The seeds arrived smelling and looking fresh. The packaging is very good for preserving the seeds, though it is not self sealing. I had been daily steeping a substantial quantity in water and drinking it as a tea, then later would eat the seeds once softened. However, regarding comsumption of fenugreek, I recently came upon an article in the American Journal of Gastroenterology, October 2017 edition, that reads, "Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) is a long established medicinal plant traditionally recommended for increasing milk production in lactating women. However, research has discovered antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, among others. Despite an abundance of benefits, the toxic profile of Fenugreek continues to increase as more studies uncover unintended toxicological effects. Hepatotoxicity has been noted, including necrosis of liver hepatocytes, acute hepatitis and early liver degeneration." Ughh. Another reminder, all things in moderation. Perhaps a 16 oz size bag is a bit much for one person? Yep.

Fresh Maple Flavor

I have tried ground fenugreek seed and wanted to soak these organic whole seeds in water. They were so flavorful and tasted and smelled like maple flavoring. The package size is affordable, long lasting and keeps the quality fresh. They will help my digestion while substituting for the sugar I gave up.

Great for tea!

I soak the seeds overnight and drink the water and eat the seeds though out the day. I can personally say that it has helped with my bowel movements being more frequent. Fenugreek seeds has made my armpits smell like syrup, to the point now I don't need to put deodorant on which is a benefit for me. I think the quality of the seeds is good, but too sprout them these are not it.
