I ended up choosing this rain jacket/pants because of all the options, it was the one that was the lightest and folded up the most compactly, two things that were very important to me because I will be using it when I travel. I'm a little concerned about the breathability of the fabric and how hot it will get when I wear it in warm temperatures, but unlike the last rain jacket/pants set I bought that totally failed on me in a rainstorm, I'm confident that this one will at least keep the rain out. To test it, I used a rubber band to secure he sleeve over the top of a cup, then dripped water on it to see if any of the water would penetrate the fabric and fall into the cup. After leaving it sit there like that for over an hour, no water passed through into the cup.
