I'm 5'5 and 167 pounds and first tried the xl too big, went with the Large and it was a much better fit. So I would say go with your true size, certainly don't size down. The feel and look of this jacket is great. I appreciate that is it also lined, adds to the nice look. I bought the blue and will be wearing it with a white top and jeans for a pulled together look.

Wait, did Free Assembly scan my body walking in Walmart?? Cuz this fits so perfectly !! Muscular 5'4, 148 the Med is a perfect fit. So nicely tailored from bust to torso with slight flairing for hips. No back vent to pull open across one's bottom. I have long arms for my height and the sleeve length is good with enough room to show some cuff. Love the happy color and tweedy material. Works for winter and transitions nicely to Spring.
