I actually didn't buy these due to their style, but because they cover more surface area - hence they offer more sun protection as a result of the design. The design helps to add more protection to the face - this is great when driving. UV damage accumulates over years and easy extra coverage seems like a no-brainer. As a bonus- they actually are quite stylish and are flattering! They look as good as my other aviators.
