Dewalt Dw Copper Cutter Attachment

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At first the tool was a little awkward to hold and put to use but I got the hang of it quickly. I like the brace around the bottom to keep the second hand free to stabilize your self on a ladder or hold the pipe. I like the that the brace and tool are quick disconnect so the impact can be used for other purposes. I have back up impacts and will probably leave it on one during the jobs that I need it. I was greatly impressed how fast it cut and that I could trim small amounts off. Concerns I have but may not be an impact depending on the job. It cuts fast which is great but it puts quick a bit of rotation on the pipe as well. I use my free hand to stabilize and hold the pipe against rotation. The other concern I had was the radius bevel it puts on the bed of the cut pipe as well as the pipe spears out of round after the cut. So far it hasn't had an impact on what I am doing but it may stand out to some contractors as a problem. I think you could reduce the force on the cutter a little and go a couple more revolutions to not bevel the end of make it out of round. Over all I really like it. I have spent what seams like hours with burning shoulders cutting pipe in floors croaking and walls. this tools will greatly improve my efficiency and not take so much wear on my shoulders working over head.

Not something I would use on a daily basis being that I am not a plumber, but it worked flawlessly and did speed up the process of pipe cutting. Would definitely recommend this product for someone that works with copper pipe on a normal basis. The only problem that I see with it is that it ties up another tool in the process. Would be nice to have the pipe cutter as a dedicated tool that accepted a battery.
