Worked great.

I used on very rusted pruners. It softened the rust so I could get it to open and take it apart to remove the rest of the rust. I had to apply the jelly more than once to get all the rust off. I left it to soak each time and now the pruners look better than it did before.

The jel dissolves rust but you still have to scrape, or sand, or brush the rust away from surface. Then you must clean the surface, spray with rust prevention like rustoleum, then paint with desired color or clear finished surface. Follow the directions for every product or treatment you use!
