I did try it out and it does work, I just can't wait to see how well it keep the pond from completely freezing. I want to try it with my chickens waterers as well! It's very easy to install by simply plugging into a grounded 120 volt receptacle outlet and place the compact, lightweight saucer into the most shallow end of the small body of water. That's it! The floating de-icing heater will do the rest of the work for you....literally! Although small & lightweight, this floating de-icing heater is durable from the design to the ten foot power chord that's chew-proof. In addition, you don't have to concern yourself by running back & forth to check the temperature within the pond, because this product contains a thermostat that shuts on and off when needed. Also, it's important to have a hole exposed in ponds during freezing temperatures to allow gasses to escape. With the floating de-icing heater, it automatically provides that thanks to the de-icing feature, which in turn keeps my koi safe from any harmful gasses. This handy little tool doesn't just help keep fish alive & safe, but also helps plant life thrive better as well! Like I said, it does all the work for you and it's just as easy to maintain. When it's not in use, you just simply wipe down & clean and then safely store away inside until the next time it's needed. Innovative & ingenious, to say the least!
