This Purple Tomatillo variety grows a bushy plant that produces lots of these small husk tomatoes that weigh about 2 Oz each. They are like a tomato covered with a papery husk and are used in many Mexican dishes and sauces. This plant originates in Mexico so can handle a lot of heat, and takes about 90 days. Though the tomatillo (to-ma-TEE-yo) is distantly related to the tomato and is grown in a similar way, the likeness ends there.
