EverStart 400 Watts Portable Slim Inverter with Digital Display and Multiple USB and AC Ports

This inverter merges the best of two worlds. At 400 watts, it's powerful enough to power a fan, large gaming system, small appliances. However, it also has a 12V cigarette plug that powers smaller appliances like cell phones and laptops. When taken camping, it is a super handy inverter that can take the battery power from my car (DC Power) and use it for my household AC power needs. As mentioned, the smaller appliances use the cigarette plug which is much easier to access. However, I do appreciate that the inverter also comes with the cords needed to connect to the prongs of my car battery (red to red, black to black) and can help power the fan for my air mattress when I go camping. I really do view the 400W model the best of both worlds for the EverStar series. The 120W doesn't have enough power, while the 750W isn't practical for smaller phone charging needs. There are 2 AC ports (think your standard 3 prong outlet in the US) and 2 USB ports to charge smaller devices. This is truly a fantastic and powerful tool. The LCD screen that also shows how things are progressing is also a nice and handy touch.

Over the years I have had several inverters. The first I got was in the late 90's and it was 1200 watts pure sine wave. I needed it to provide power to a circular saw I wanted to use where I did not have any 120VAC. Over the years as many 120VAC products were now made to work with battery power, I found less expensive non-sine wave inverters worked well for my needs. I have used a 200 watt inverter for a number of years, but that one was not powerful enough for some things. It only had a cigar lighter plug to get the 12VDC power from which is a limiting factor to the power available. This Ever Start unit has both a cigar lighter plug AND a 12VDC battery clamp which is most useful for higher wattage appliances. The power cords are independent of each other and can be taken on/off easily to the input terminals of the inverter. It is NON-sine wave inverter which means it will not run many 120VAC appliances that have a spinning motor in them, and if they do run the appliance, it will have greatly reduced speed and power from the motor. However, I like this unit as it provides up to 400 watts which is plenty for powering/charging a laptop, or LED/LCD TV or monitor screen and computer. It will also power most 12VDC battery chargers used for battery operated power tools. Input power fuses are easily replaced as they are available on the rear panel. This inverter also has two USB power ports which is a nice touch. It also has an internal fan to help cool the unit as it will become warm when loaded to 1/2 or more of it's 400 watt capacity. Do not mount this unit in an enclosed space as it need plenty of air flow. This will not power a home refrigerator as many RV/trailer users now have, but it is convenient for many other appliances, mostly electronic items that require 400 watts or less of 120VAC power. Power ratings for most appliances are written on them or the "power bricks" that connect them to the wall outlet. Make sure that your 12VDC battery(s) are fully charged before using this device. They will quickly discharge depending on how much power you are pulling from the Ever Start inverter.
