Great things come in small packages!

This mini backpack was smaller than I realized - I thought it was 16 liter, but it is only 8. But with padded straps, chest and hip straps, and 2 (very narrow) mesh pockets, it will work well for dayhikes. It is really hard to find those features in a small pack. Be warned that my metal water bottle, which is narrower than most water bottles, just fits in the mesh pocket, but I believe a standard store plastic 1/2 liter bottle will fit, although I've not tried it. I added elastic loops to the zipper pulls to hold the top of the bottle so it doesn't fall out, because the pockets are not very deep. The main compartment will hold a large hoodie and some snacks or a rain shell. The small compartment will hold my wallet and more. For the low sales prices I paid, it's a great value, and I hope Everest keeps making them. I love it!

Ergonomic high-grade mini-backpack

The optional ergonomic upper-chest strap and waist strap make this mini-backpack more comfortable and provide a reliable sense of security. Perfect for taking a few items to work every day--and then adding a few groceries for the trip home, once in a while. It is virtually impossible to overload oneself with ordinary groceries using this daypack, as long as you are in good health. Zippers run smooth, rear pack can hold a t-shirt, and main compartment hold an amount that would be expected for a mini-backpack--enough but not too much.
