- This tea's antioxidant content is HIGH. The longer you steep your tea, the more polyphenols will be extracted based on the test results of 5 minutes of steeping time. Polyphenol percentages may fluctuate with the lot, grade of tea, testing method, the temperature of the water, and the freshness of the tea. More antioxidants are extracted from the L. Camellia Sinesis tea when it is brewed longer and get a greater antioxidant benefit when more tea is used.
- The caffeine content of this tea is MEDIUM. This tea contains natural caffeine found in the L. Camellia Sinensis family. A cup of black tea steeped in boiled water for 5 minutes will contain between 27 to 35 milligrams of caffeine. An equal-sized cup of coffee will contain between 80 to 100 milligrams of caffeine. Caffeine quickly becomes soluble in very hot water. If you wish to reduce the caffeine level in this tea, briefly rinsing the tea leaves in extremely hot water will reduce the caffeine content between 25-50% with only a minor effect on taste.

English Tea Store Blackcurrant Naturally Flavored Black Tea Leaf Pouches 16oz our Blackcurrant Naturally Flavored Black Tea boasts a deep blackcurrant aroma and taste. This Blackcurrant tea is not herbal and does contain caffeine. This tea is wonderful iced. This is a naturally flavored black tea. We use natural high-grown Ceylon tea from estates at more than 5500 feet above sea level. We add natural flavor to give a clean true taste with no chemical aftertaste. For the best brew, Blackcurrant Naturally Flavored Black Tea should steep in water that has been brought to a rolling boil for 2-5 minutes. 98% or more of this tea comes from estates that are part of the Ethical Tea Partnership. The ETP is an initiative started within the tea industry to monitor and regulate living and working conditions on estates around the world.
