I haven't used this Sun hat on a real outing as of yet but have tried it on and gave it a short test... I think it will meet all my needs. I'm in the Southwest and I have Lupus, the sun and heat wears me out, this will help to provide some protection. I have a small head but the hat adjustment allows me to snug this up for a good fit. The wide brim provides good coverage from the sun.

Good inexpensive sun hat and good coverage

Fits over my large head and thick hair. 22 and 1/2 inches or so. Brim is wide and it is a roomy fit. Sun protection hats can run up to one hundred dollars. This is a good alternative. A few notes—I'm not sure if the top of the hat or the ventilation sides give you the protection you need . The brim does act as a protective shade device and is thick enough to block the sun. If you are at a high risk for skin cancer —you made want to get a sun hat from Solumbra -they are registered medical devices. So please be careful out there and safe in the sun.

I think it's a fine hat and I will run through the pros and cons below. Pros: Full sun protection, I like the style, provides shade, the size is fine and fits my adult head, coloring and vents are great, Cons: I wish it was heavier, it's a little lite and feels like it will blow away, but it does have a strap that does help.
