Dubrak Rugged 5" Ferro Rod Fire Starter Kit is a great combination fire starter kit! The PRICE for all three pieces is FANTASTIC. You can pay more than that for just one 5-inch Ferro rod that is not drilled or with Paracord. Great Ferro Rod with the STEEL! Plus the combo comes with your first material to start a fire. To use the fire rope separate the strands of waxed jute so your spark will light it easily. I keep laundry lint with my fire starting kits because it is one of the fastest ways to start a fire. No effort to bag it up and place a small amount of the lint where you want your fire to start. Strike your Ferro Rod with the Steel and you have fire. Have more wood ready to add and let the fire get going! You will need to strike it several times to get the black off and then the sparks start. Practice in your backyard until you get the hang of it. And how much of your lint you'll need to start your fire. Having this STEEL is a lifesaver. You might not have your knife with you when fire is needed. Buy these great Dubrak 5 " Ferro Rod with Steel fire kits and put them everywhere! You have a small length of Paracord to boot on your Ferro Rod! For the money you can't beat this kit!!! Ferro rod sparks reach 5500 degrees please be careful! I know I am going to buy more! This KIT can save your life...because not everyone carries a knife to use the back of your blade to strike the Ferro Rod with! Keep this kit together and keep it handy in your car and at home.
