The bird clip at the top of the feeder keeps the lid secured. The squirrels still have plenty of food without wrecking the place. I won't go so far to say it is squirrel proof because they could possibly get it off the feeder pole and crash it to the ground But so far so good. It looks good, holds plenty of bird seed and stays relatively dry in rainy weather.

Squirls have a hard time with this feeder. Birds go crazy over it but Pick your feed so it easily passes through the bottom opening. Kind of narrow , large seed will get stuck.
